Employee benefits are a key component to recruiting and retaining the best employees.Employee health benefits are usually treated as a necessary evil and while it may take a huge chunk out of your revenue, the benefits often attract better employees and help retain existing workers. Satisfied, healthy employees are more likely to help your business grow. Instead of eliminating employee benefits, businesses can provide health-care coverage on a budget with a few adjustments. With costs of medical plans escalating and new regulations looming due to health-care reform, businesses of all sizes are scrambling to manage the impact to their bottom lines, while still trying to provide attractive options.

What is the best way for employers to address their health benefits issues?

It is most important for employers to think about health care in terms of value, not cost. Value is the health outcomes achieved for the money spent. Cost includes not only the immediate, short-term costs of treatment but the long-term costs of ongoing care as well as the indirect cost of poor health. Every employer should work with an employee benefits consultant to offer the best possible employee benefits-particularly healthcare benefits.

Employers can also address employee healthcare benefits by sharing information about the benefits in a credible and personal way. They must provide employees a clear picture of what options their companies offer and the reasons why. These communications should include facts such as what percentage of costs the company and employees cover, how costs are growing and affecting the company’s finances, and which plans best support each individual’s situation.

Encouraging wellness is another successful way of addressing health benefit issues. Not only can a successful wellness program keep people away from the doctor and costs down, strong programs build camaraderie and show employees their employer cares. Some companies cover the costs of smoking cessation and weight loss programs, or reward participation in health and risk assessment screenings. To encourage healthy lifestyle choices, employers offer fitness programs and healthy menu choices in company cafeterias, sometimes at lower prices than the less healthy alternatives.

Choosing the partner to help provide excellent employee benefits services for your organization can be tricky. Partner with an expert who can support the company and employees globally through its consulting services. You need a firm that can tailor a benefits package that aligns with your budget amidst a compensation landscape where costs continue to rise.

Bone loss, leading to osteoporosis, is believed to be more prevalent in older people, especially in post-menopausal women. Osteoporosis is a medical condition in which the bone losses its density, making it more prone to bone breaks. However, proper nutrition plays an important role towards bone health. Certain vitamins and minerals helps the bones grow healthy and strong, thus reducing the potential development of osteoporosis, medical experts say. This article may help you learn the important and significant vitamins and minerals you need to have an excellent bone health.

Calcium

We all know that calcium is one of the known nutrients which is key to strong and healthy bones. It is also considered as the most common mineral found in the body, which is needed in the formation of bones. Individuals aged nine and up may need to take 1000 to 1300 milligrams of calcium as their recommended daily intake. Calcium is commonly found in milk, cheese, yogurt, soybeans, and herring.

Vitamin D

Vitamin D is widely known as the sunshine vitamin since we get vitamin D through sunshine. This vitamin is also needed by the bone, as well as the muscles. It is necessary for the absorption of calcium. The stronger and healthier the muscle, it functions better, improves balance and fewer falls.

Magnesium

Magnesium is also one of the nutrients which are backs up the absorption of calcium. Its benefit is increasingly acknowledged to be an important contributor to excellent bone health. There are several studies that magnesium increases bone density but more researches are still needed to establish facts. Foods rich in magnesium are molasses, sunflower seed, almonds, cashews, and dark chocolates.

Vitamin K

Vitamin K is a less known contributor to bone health. However, modern studies have found Vitamin K to be associated with great benefits to bone health. It is commonly found in green leafy vegetables such as kale, broccoli, spinach, spring onion and lettuce.

People with osteoporosis and osteopenia often resort bone drugs such as Fosamax, believing that this pharmaceutical medication may cure them with their bone disease. However, there are a number of reports that this medication potentially causes femur fractures and similar bone breaks, osteonecrosis of the jaw (a painful and disfiguring crumbling of the jaw bone), atrial fibrillation (irregular heartbeat) and esophageal cancer. You may visit the Fosamax Injury Lawsuit Center at fosamaxinjurylawsuitcenter.com for more related information.

Traumatic brain injury (TBI) has remained a major cause of mortality, morbidity and leading cause of large-scale disabilities worldwide. TBI results in a large number of deaths and a cause of permanent disabilities with enormous losses to individuals, families, and communities [1]. World Health Organization (WHO), in 2004, has estimated that 25% of road traffic collisions requiring admission to a hospital suffered TBI [13]. Pathophysiology of TBI involves two main phases: these are primary injury following the trauma, and the secondary injury which is mediated by inflammatory response to trauma.
However, no effective therapy or program is available for treatment of individuals with TBI; nonetheless, researchers had tried some therapeutic agents like levodopa/carbidopa and some neurotrophic factors in brain injury with persistent vegetative state with the aim of augmenting and slowing the progression from persistent vegetative state into some degree of consciousness. This still needs experimentation to confirm if these dopamine precursors and other neurotrophic factors have any role in TBI.
Solomon O. Ugoya and Jian Tu from Australian School of Advanced Medicine, Macquarie University; and Technology Place, North Ryde, Sydney, Australia, respectively, have stated that Neural stem cells (NSCs) have recently been shown to contribute to the cellular re-modeling that occurs following TBI and attention has been drawn to the area of neural stem cell as possible therapy for TBI. The NSCs may play an important role in the treatment of TBI by replacing the damaged cells and eventual remyelination. They also pointed out that they can achieve the translation of basic knowledge of neural stem cells into therapeutic options in persons with TBI by enhancing and integrating these neural progenitor cells (NPCs) unto neurogenesis and directing these cells to the specified targets or through multi-potency where the transplanted cells can differentiate into glial cells, neurons, and endothelial cells, as the i confirm if these dopamine precursors and other neurotrophic factors have any role in TBI.
Solomon O. Ugoya and Jian Tu from Australian School of Advanced Medicine, Macquarie University; and Technology Place, North Ryde, Sydney, Australia, respectively, have stated that Neural stem cells (NSCs) have recently been shown to contribute to the cellular re-modeling that occurs following TBI and attention has been drawn to the anjuries are not always selective but diffuse and we may need to induce these transplanted cells into appropriate phenotype.
Neural stem cell therapy is a strategy that offers hope in the future for treatment of brain injury. In addition, we are now able to monitor autologous neural stem cells in vivo, cell migration and clearly demonstrate that neural stem cells could selectively target injured brain or spinal cord tissue and undergo neurogenesis.
Recently, more attention has been drawn to the area of stem cell therapy, largely due to advanced knowledge about stem cells. The stem cells may play an important role in the treatment of TBI by replacing damaged cells, and helping functional recovery. The search for stem cell therapy for TBI is progressing.

More and more health care professionals are recommending the use of quality home ultrasound devices to patients that suffer from chronic pain conditions and other injuries. In fact, doctors now advise the use of an ultrasound therapy machine in physical therapy. This is because ultrasound therapy has been found to improve the results of physical therapy.

Deeper penetrating ultrasound waves While physical therapy is already considered to be one of the best non-invasive treatments for relieving pain, incorporating the use and application of ultrasound therapy can enhance its results. Ultrasound therapy complements physical therapy in many different ways. One of these ways is that the sound waves produced by an ultrasound machine deeply penetrate the skin.

The high frequency sound waves produced by an ultrasound device have the power to penetrate the surface of the skin up to 4 inches. These sound waves are focused on affected and injured areas so that symptoms can be alleviated. There are two key advantages that ultrasound therapy poses: The first is that it increases cellular activity, oxygen flow and blood flow to the affected area; the second is that it diminishes edema and inflammation (swelling), which are two of the main sources of pain.

Speeds up the body’s healing process

In all of the clinical studies concerning ultrasound therapy, the majority of participants reported that they experienced less pain, faster recovery and greater mobility. In a nutshell, ultrasound therapy produced thermal benefits, which allows the muscles to relax and reduce pain and swelling. 20-minute daily sessions using this device can accelerate the body’s healing process when it comes to fractures. The same duration can also improve the physical functions of older adults, as well as decrease the pain that they experience, especially those suffering from osteoarthritis.

Other benefits of ultrasound therapy

In addition to complementing physical therapy, ultrasound therapy also provides many other benefits. One of the most obvious of which is the fact that through this type of treatment, there will no longer be a need for patients to completely depend on pain relievers and other drugs. While aspirin, naproxen and ibuprofen are helpful for relieving pains affecting the joints, muscles and tendons, as well as chronic conditions such as back pain and arthritis, these do not come without risks. With regular use, these drugs increase the risks of kidney damage, ulcers and even heart failure.

Incorporating the use of an ultrasound therapy machine in physical therapy can be very beneficial. Visit a reputable provider of quality home ultrasound devices by visiting ezultrasound.com for more details.

If someone is in need of fake hospital notes to use as an excuse for a long absence from work, they could just simply google the words and in comes a huge number of websites containing information and actual samples of said notes. Additionally, you could easily find offers of these notes, for a fee of course, in varying forms, types and quality also from these websites. The reason for the influx of this type of business online is because there are a lot of people who purchase this service. And the reason why many people get this service is because it actually works.

These fake hospital notes are an employee’s answer to finally getting that much needed rest from work. Another good thing about this is that it costs much less than actually going to the doctor for consultation. Hospital notes like this cost about $9 to $20 depending on the quality of the fake hospital notes. The bad news however is that these notes could be spotted. To the not so strict employers, the fake hospital notes available online may be good enough. For the strict ones though, there are ways of knowing if the employee is indeed sick during his absence. First determinant is the way the concerned employee would look when he goes back to work. Most of those who come from an illness lose weight or looks weak. Appearing normal may be a cause for doubt. Secondly, an individual who returns to work from real sickness tend to work ardently to make up for lost time. A person faking it however would act sick and weak and move slow. Lastly and most dangerously, an employer may actually call the doctor whose name and contact details are indicated in the fake hospital note.

It is entirely the individual’s decision if he should trust using fake hospital notes or not. Afterall, he is the one who knows how his employers are. The consequences are apparent. It is up to him if he will take the risk.

This is another vitamin article that I have written, but the only difference is that this one goes into more detail about specific vitamins. My previous articles do not do that. Those articles were more of a short introduction into vitamins, their role and their best food source. I’ll start with 2 water Soluble Vitamins and 1 fat soluble vitamins.

Water Soluble Vitamins: These are water-soluble vitamins that are not stored in the body and must be replaced each day. These vitamins are Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, vitamin B3, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, Folic Aid, Pantothenic Acid, Biotin and vitamin C.

Lets start with the b vitamins: Vitamin B1 is needed to process carbs, fats, and proteins. Vitamin b1 is required by everybody to form the fuel the body runs on. Every nerve cell requires vitamin b1 to function properly. Wheat germ, peas, beans, enriched flour, fish, peanuts, and meat are all excellent sources of vitamin b1. People with advancing age, a poor diet and too much alcohol consumption may result in vitamin b1 deficiency. The suggested RDA for vitamin b1 is unclear but The amount found in most multivitamin supplements is more than enough. Vitamin b1 works hand in hand with vitamin b2 and vitamin b3.

Vitamin b2: Helps release energy from foods. Essential for healthy eyes, skin, nails and hair. Their sources are: Whole grains, brewer’s yeast, torula yeast, wheat germ, almonds, sunflower seeds, cooked leafy vegetables. The suggested RDA for vitamin b2 is unclear but The amount found in most multivitamin supplements is more than enough.

Please note, be aware that vitamin b3 or Niacin, as its commonly known as, may cause a reaction in some people. Itching and or burning are two of the symptoms. The author of this article found that out the hard way. Fat-soluble vitamins: Theses vitamins are A, D, E and K. These vitamins are dissolved in fat and stored, therefore they are not needed every day in the diet. Over consumption of fat soluble vitamins may pose a risk of toxicity.

Vitamin A: Vitamin a is a fat soluble vitamin and as mentioned before, should not be consumed in excess. For the maintenance of skin, mucous membranes, bones, teeth, and hair; eye sight. Their sources are: green vegetables, melon, squash, tomatoes.

Well that’s it for this article. Look for more of my vitamin articles coming soon.
